On a lovely, pleasant and hot summers day, Molesey went into their 3rd pre-season friendly

Against Sussex County League Div. 1 opponents Dorking Wanderers.

Whilst Molesey had a few trialists on show and doing well, they had the loins share of the possession whilst Dorking W. were dangerous on the break. In fairness, the Moles should have been 3 up but for good saves by the Dorking W. keeper and missed chances frustrated the onlooking fans. One of those easy chances that went a-begging lead to one of those Dorking W. break aways, when good interchanging down the right and a fine low cross led to the Dorking W. striker mis-hitting his shot which went in the Molesey net albeit off his hand for a disallowed goal.

Further saves from the Dorking W. keeper and the Molesey keeper diving to his right pushing the ball around the post kept the score level 0-0 at half time.

The second half again was dominated by Molesey's quick passing and movement which finally took its toll on Dorking W. where poor marking left the Molesey striker to prod home from 6 yerds. Dorking W. had their moments but for poor wayward strikes didn't create to many problems for the Molesey 'keeper.

The Molesey second goal came from a corner which bypassed everyone, and with good control by centre back Weighill his fine strike from the edge of the box to make it 2-0

After further player changes, Molesey saw the game through with more chances missed, but certainly another good workout for the lads.

Now onto the next fixture, which will be an even more sterner test against Ryman Div. 1 South outfit Merstham at Walton Xcel 3G, on Saturday 19 July 2014 - kick off 12.15pm

Thank you for the support on Saturday, hope to see you all there again this Saturday !
