The club are pleased to announce that England Manager Roy Hodgson's right hand man...

Assistant Manager and Molesey man RAY LEWINGTON has kindly agreed to attend our prestigious Mick Burgess Memorial Cup fixture against our local good friends and Ryman outfit Walton Casuals next TUESDAY 29 JULY 2013 - kick off 7.30pm.

Ray was good friends with the well respected and much loved ''Gentle Giant'' Mick Burgess who was associated with both clubs in one way or another.

Mick ''Gentle Giant'' Burgess who sadly passed away in February 2008 will always be remembered as a loyal supporter, former Molesey player and Manager of Molesey FC with Barry Peacock as his Assistant who has returned back to Molesey last season as our Youth Team manager.

Mick also coached Walton Casuals, then after a brief spell managing Cobham he took up scouting roles at Fulham, Wimbledon and worked with Chelsea on their ''Football in the Community'' initiative.

Mick loved his football and had a particular interest in young talented footballers in hope to progress them to a higher level of the game.

Apart from football, during 2003-2004 Mick received the honour of becoming the MAYOR of Elmbridge. In addition to being the Mayor, Mick took an active part in local politics, he was also elected representative of the Molesey Residents Association in 1992 until he passed away in 2008.

Mick was a gentle speaking man who always found time to speak to you no matter what subject.

Whether you knew Mick or not, we sincerely hope that there will be a good attendance in MIcks memory, and would like to offer our sincere thanks and appreciation to Mr. Lewington who has taken time out of his busy agenda to visit Molesey for next weeks game.

R.I.P. William Malcolm Burgess ''Mick'' 28 June 1940 - 18 February 2008
