The Molesey faithful must be asking when are the Moles going to put away their chances like they were at the beginning of the season !

Thats a fact against Hartley Wintney yesterday and last week against Cove. The good thing in all this is that the Moles continue to create these chances so hopefully one day they will get back to taking them and turn the last 2 tight defeats into wins.

Worldy's ! It seems that the Moles are at the brunt end of some great strikes of late in their last 2 games, the 2 from Hartley Wintney's Hobden yesterday and Coves' Baxter last week.

Yesterday as always with Hartley Wintney was a tight affair, and credit to both teams who played football which was easy on the eye. Hartley started sharper and had the better possession for the opening 15 minutes when the Moles started to get into the game. Both sides were having half chances but the Moles had the better open chances working the Hartley 'keeper more but to no avail.

Then on the half hour a moment of controvesy when the Moles having good possession created the move of the game which ended with Baxter's firm srike from the edge of the box bringing out a great save from the Harttey 'keeper, only for Linegar to finish off the rebound, but after the joyous celebrations the linesman ruled Linegar offside much to the Moles dismay.

The second half again was an even affair, then on 65 minutes another good build up by the Moles saw McShane's pass end up with an excellent strike by Grobler from outside the packed penalty box leaving the Hartley 'keeper unsighted and no chance with the goal.

Then 5 minutes later Hartley repsonded with the strike of the game, Hobden's worldy from a full 35 yards which dipped over the Moles keeper into the stanchion leaving the 'keeper with no chance.

After this the Moles stepped up and created chance after chance which were either saved or missed, then with 10 minutes to go, a mix-up on a Moles throw near their own penalty box, ended up with Hobden seeking possession and again tried his luck as he curled his strike in the far post again giving the Moles keeper no chance.

The Moles didn't give up and rallied on until the end, where a Baxter free header after a good build up could have brought the scores level but it wasn't to be as it tamely ended in the keepers arms, then from a corner, a full volley by Robihson from 6 yards brought out a great point blank save by the Hartley keeper to keep them ahead thus Hartley Wintney winning 2-1 and coming away with the 3 points !

It was a good game made better by two good footballing teams with the adderd spice of 3 excellent goals !

Next up for the Moles is on Tuesday 23 September when they are away to Knaphill please note kick off is 19:30
