Saturday's game was always going to be another fiesty affair with only 4 days passed since their previous encounter...

where neither team were prepared to give an inch on the return match after The Moles beat the Baggies 2-0 in the Surrey Senior Cup 1/4 final, where The Moles now meet Ryman Premier outfit and friendly neighbours Met Police in the semi final at Walton Road on Tuesday 24 March 2015 - Kick off 7.45pm.

In a game where neither keeper were rarely troubled into making spectacular saves, there was only going to be a goal in it and it was going to be who scored it first !

From the outset, The Moles who started more brightly and dominated the first 15 minutes with some neat football keeping Badshot Lea in their own half, and as a result, after 5 minutes Molesey should have been 1 up had it not been for the Baggy defender clearing Palmer's header off the line.

With Molesey in control of the game, the game gradually took a turn in Baggies favour, as on a bobbly pitch, 3 back passes caused Allen concern in his clearances thus giving the Baggies the momentum in shutting the ball down and create half chances which all came to nothing. With Badshot now having the lions share of the game, a cross from Muir eluded everyone in the penalty box and hit the far post, where a Molesey defender was quickest to react and clear any danger. Tha game remained a midfield battle, which some could say it literally was up until the half time whistle.

After the interval, The Moles were quick out of the blocks pressing the Baggies defence into conceding a corner, which had Robinson arrive on cue to head home, well thats what it seemed, a great goal had it not been for the Baggy defender to clear off the line again ! What followed in the melee of players, Spencer was pushed and penalty given, and here's where the game turned as Palmer's penalty went over the bar, and within 5 minutes, the quiet Turner
received the ball around the edge of The Moles box and scuffed his left foot strike which was going well wide, until Ayres arrived, looking suspiciously offside, stroked the ball home past Allen in the Molesey goal to go one up.

Chances were few and far between, even half chances, but as full time was approaching, The Moles piled on attack after attack on the Baggies goal with numerous melle's in the Baggies penalty box, but they stood firm, but with 2 minutes to go, another Baggy goal line clearance from a Carlton-Murray toe-poke was made with Somerville beaten, this was the last chance The Moles had to save thus game, and thus Badshot Lea held out and came away victorious to do the double over Molesey, the only team to accomplish this so far this season.

The Baggies are durable, well organsied team and can understand why they are on a good run, they will certainly surprise a few teams in their quest to end up in the top 6.

Yet, it wasn't all doom and gloom for The Moles on Saturday, as the other title challengers Camberley lost to Raynes Park Vale and Cove dropped 2 points at Epsom & Ewell so basically, it is as it was before the game, with everything still in Molesey hands in their own quest to be League Champions !

Next up is another tough game against Top of the Table Cove who visit Walton Road on Tuesday 10 March 2014 - kick off 7.45pm
