Ben's Brook House Match Report

MOLESEY 5 v 0 BROOK HOUSE

Second Home game of the season and a second Win of the season that sees Molesey Top of the league at this early stage. But following two impressive displays the boys deserve to enjoy this table topping achievement, even if it is early in the Season.
Molesey started the game with pace an movement not seen in a Molesey side for many years. The passing was crisp and accurate and Brook House had ne answer to the onslaught!
It took just 10 minutes for Molesey to take the lead. The ball was played down the left and when the cross was played in, across the turf, it evaded the Brook House goalkeeper and at the far post it was Harry Boxall who was on hand to score in an open net!
With Brook House struggling to cope with the pace and not being able to cope with the cact Molesey were playing with three Centre Backs and two Wing Backs, things became even more difficult when they were reduced to 10 men when there defender Owen was sent off for a miss-timed challenge and being the last man!
Before half-time the ball was crossed in from the right by Harry Boxall for Daji Alabi to easily force the ball into the net.
2-0 at half time and the talk amongst the reasonable crowd was one of how positive the Molesey side were playing and how entertaining the whole team were! With comments in the first half of, Well-played, unlucky, great ball and fantastic play, it was very encouraging for the second half.

The second half started a bit slower paced but it came to life when Blessing Hombassa broke from midfield and his pace was all too clear to see as he went round the keeper and slotted the ball into an empty net for a fine individual goal.
It was soon 4-0 when Jake Palm converted a Penalty after waiting a few minutes because of some goalkeeper antics that got him a deserved yellow care. With minutes to go Molesey rounded off a great night of well-played and enjoyable football when they scored a fifth goal following a breath-taking run and finish from Saad Haidous, again showing skill, pace and an eye for goal.
It looks as though Peter Doherty has got a fine group of players together for this season, that have taken confidence from the success they had at the end of last season and have taken it into this. The fine start of two wins, 6 goals scored and none conceded bodes well for the future for Molesey, the players, the Management and supporters.
Well done lads and well done everyone for bringing a great atmosphere and a homely feel to the new clubhouse. Lets now concentrate on building new memories with this exciting team!

Come on you Moles!
