Match report Langley

MOLESEY 3 v 0 LANGLEY

Molesey, 7th in the League, took on Langley, 5th in the League, on a sodden pitch that played well, testimony to Molesey Groundsman Ross Teague.
The game had everything the spectator would have wanted in a good game of football. Open attacking play, goals and two Sent off near the end of the game. All in all a great match for the impartial observer.
Langley started the stronger and should have taken the lead on 13 minutes when the ball fell to Clements, in front of goal but he somehow screwed his shot wide of the goal.
First goal of the game came in the14th minute, to Molesey. The ball was played down the left and a pinpoint cross was laid on for Prince to shot and beat Burke in the Langley goal.

We had to wait until the first few few minutes of the second half for Molesey to score the Second of the game. A Crossfield ball from the right side was well headed at the far post, past Burke by Dariush to make it two for Molesey. Two, Langley where Stunned minutes after Molesey grabbed a third and winning goal when Harlem found the ball at his feet in the Penalty Area and he had the simple task of slotting the ball home.
So being 3-0 to the good you would have thought Molesey would cruise through the last 35-40 minutes, but Langley had other ideas. Without the good saves by Molesey goalkeeper Wheeler, and better finishing, Langley could have found their way back into the match very easily.
However, the opportunity was ruined when in the space of 3 minutes two Langley players the left back and a Central Midfield Player were Sent off for two late challenges.
Another good win sees Molesey close the gap on their rival. The next few games are critical if Pete Doherty and the entertaining team of exciting young lads that he has moulded together will get their just rewards at the end of this season!
