Molesey win by a nose at Ascot

It was a great night at the race course as Molesey battled hard to overcome top of the table Ascot 2-1.
On a bitterly cold night and not 1 any player would want to sit out 10 minuets in the sin bin. With that in mind the man in the middle, seemed only able to find his yellow card for just 1 side?
Ascot probably had the majority of the play for the 1st half an hour, in a hard fought midfield tussle but it was Molesey who took the lead on the 34th minute when Olakeko Osideko scooped the ball into the back of the net, after Ascot failed to clear from their own box. The goal was scored while the Moles where temporally down to 10 men after Ryan Marklew said too much to the ref after receiving a couple of hefty challenges.
HT 0-1
Ascot's main threat was down both flanks but Ryan David on the right and Hulina Massembe on the opposite side, contained all attempts of their advance. When Ascot ventured through the middle they came across the hard working midfield of Craig Lewington, Tom Windsor, Ryan Marklew and Connor Channon, who held their shape and suck to the game plan.
Dre Grobler was given a rest on 68 minutes after a tireless effort upfront, replaced by the fresh legs of Danny Campion, minutes later Adam Roberts replaced the goal scorer Leakon giving the Molesey front line a total different angle.
Ascot where given a life line when Connor dragged down the Ascot striker, PJ must have said too much in his demonstration of the decisions and was given 10 minutes on the side line. Liam Allen in the Molesey goal out guessed the Ascot penalty taker and managed to get both hands diving across to his right, Liam handling throughout the game was again 1st class.
With the mid field needing some fresh legs Jerrel Gumbs came on for Connor.
Ascot did equalize against the 10 men when Molesey had a number of chances clear the inevitable Ascot onslaught.
PJ returned to the game with only minutes to go and it was PJ who rose the tallest to head home an unstoppable looping header at the far post.
Molesey held tight and with all players putting in a shift, ran down the clock, winning 2-1 but most importantly taking all 3 points from the league leaders.
