Molesey see off Balham with a perfect Saturday performance, hat- trick, clean sheet, 4-0 win

Balham were the visitors to Walton Road for Molesey’s latest Combined Counties league fixture.
Molesey have been accused of being slow starters in games this season. Today would have been an exception to the accuser, with 3 great chances in the 1st 10 minutes.
The 1st chance fell to Ryan Marklew who some how failed to open the scoring when from only 2 yards out he some how slipped and watch his effort skid wide of the far post. The next chance was when a great cross field ball from Mr reliable Craig Lewington split the Balham defense, allowing Danny Campion to round the keeper but could only watch as a Balham defender scoped the ball off the goal line. Ryan was next up and found himself one on one with the Balham keeper who came out forcing Rayn to an impossible angle.
It was the right hand side of the pitch which gave Molesey most opportunities to push forward, with Ashby Charles returning from injury linking well with Danny Band who was also returning after a short spell under the physio’s attention, both causing Balham no end of troubles.
The breakthrough came just after the half hour when Joe Pratley-Jones buried his penalty after a Balham defender was judged to have handled in the area.
The last chance of the half was when Danny Campion was hauled down by the Balham keeper but somehow the ref judged that the keeper had played the ball.
HT 1-0
The 2nd half started as the 1st half ended, with Molesey on the advance, Jerell Gumbs up front had a couple of half chances, with the keeper saving well from the best. It was the Balham keeper who provided the Moles with the 2nd goal when he spilled a long range effort from PJ, giving Danny Campion the simplest of tap in’s. Danny when on to score again 5 minuets later with a well placed shot from the edge of the box. Jerell gave Danny his hat-trick on a plate after cutting in from right and squaring his pass for Danny to score from close range.
Connor Channon came on for Danny Band and hat-trick hero Danny gave way to Adam Roberts with the job looking like complete.
Liam Allen should have been happy with his performance, dealing well with the few chances Balham created, his clean sheet was cemented when PJ cleared off the line late on.
Dre Grobler was the last Molesey change for the tireless Ryan Marklew.
Craig would have been happy with his team’s all-round performance, another 3 points and a clean sheet.
