Molesey made it four wins from five games in all competitions with a hard fought 3-2 victory over Raynes Park Vale.

Nick White's soft goal after ten minutes saw the Moles go in one up at the interval, and the second half was ten minutes old when the game exploded into life with four goals in a frantic eight minute spell.

Simon Moore drew the visitors level before Moses Spencer headed home a Tom Dilloway free-kick to put the hosts back in front. The lead was short lived with Calvin Herron slotting home from a corner, but Tom Windsor headed what turned out to be the winner from another Dilloway cross.

The Moles went into the game having played twice in midweek, whilst Raynes Park's trip to Guernsey last Sunday was followed by a victory over Horley 48 hours later, so both sides came into the game slightly fatigued and with very little to play for, and that was reflected in a fairly pedestrian opening 45 minutes played in bright sunshine.

Molesey took the lead when Andy Graves and Lewis Ackerman combined on the right and sent White clear to run at the Vale centre halves. White drove in and shot with his weaker left foot, and although the ball bounced awkwardly in front of Vale keeper Adam Skinner, he really should have done better than to allow it to roll over his body and trickle into the net.

Skinner looked vulnerable again when Manny Quarshie beat him to a high bouncing ball but headed just wide.

Vale gradually came into the game as the half wore on, with ex Mole Rob Wilkinson stinging the palms of Wester Young from the edge of the box.

Anthony Moulds fired a shot into a Molesey body from a clever corner routine, and Jerome Smart volleyed over following a flowing team move as Vale finished the half the stronger, with the Moles struggling to contain the marauding runs of full backs Moulds and Layiwola Lehoh.

The second half was a far more enjoyable spectacle, and Moore drew Vale level when he capitalised on hesitation from Young to prod a through ball past him and then beat Jordan McCartney in a foot race to even the scores.

Ex Vale defender Dilloway's terrific inswinging free-kick was met by Spencer, who planted a header past Skinner to restore Molesey's lead, although it was short-lived, with Vale immediately forcing a corner and Herron made the most of lax marking to fire the ball home through a crowded penalty box to draw the visitors level once more.

There was barely time to draw breath when Ackerman combined with Dilloway, and his high, hanging cross was met by the head of Windsor, and although Skinner got his hand to the ball he was unable to keep it out.

Vale carried the greater goal threat as they chased the game in the closing stages, although Young remained well protected, and the Moles were unfortunate not to be awarded a late penalty when it looked like Grant was tripped in the box, but it mattered little as the Moles held on to complete the double over Vale.
