Molesey made the short trip up the A3 to visit Division One side Worcester Park in the Combined Counties League Cup. Worcester Park have won their league the last two years but due to having a poor ground they have been denied promotion. Judging on this performance that is much to the relief of the Premier Division sides as they won't have to worry about the crunching challenges and overtly physical play of the home side.

It was a lacklustre start from the Moles and they were ruthlessly made to pay for it as they quickly found themselves three goals down after just half an hour.

It started in the 8th minute when a corner was lobbed in to the back post and the bane of Moleseys defence, the back post header, plagued them again when Muino found himself alone and had an easy header to give the home side the lead.

Molesey had a brief attack as Arnold Tawonezvi forced former Molesey goalkeeper Steve Winnen into a good save.

But Worcester Park went straight up the other end to double their lead. A goal mouth scramble eventually culminated in a penalty to the home side. Gary Knowlden stepped up and fired the penalty home.

Eleven minutes later and the home side completed the first half hour destruction of Molesey when they broke the offside trap and Marples fired home well.

In the aftermath Jordan McCartney showed how much frustration was being felt by the away side and, much to his team mates annoyance picked up two bookings for dissent within ten seconds of each other. Surely a Molesey record!

Three minutes later and the teams were evened up after a disgraceful tackle from Castellop resulted in pushing and shoving on the pitch involving all 22 players and most of both benches. Once everything was calmed down the Worcester Park defender received his marching orders.

Molesey gave themselves a chance six minutes before half time when Arnold Tawonezvi played a superb through ball to James McShane who took a touch and finished easily.

The half time whistle went on a very ill tempered first half. One penalty, Four goals, Two red cards and a 22 man brawl all within the first 45 minutes!

Molesey came out for the second half much in the ascendancy but struggled to create any chances.

Just after the hour mark a Tom Dilloway cross was put wide by Lewis Ackerman as he tried to deflect it in on the stretch.

Four minutes later and Molesey had another chance as Tawonezvi headed over when he could have done better.

A minute later and the game was very much on. A long goal kick from Wester Young bounced through to Darius Heravi. Heravi brought it down brilliantly and then with his next touch expertly lobbed Winnen to make it 3-2.

Molesey were struggling to create chances still and with ten minutes to go Rob Wilkinson was withdrawn for Joseph grant as Molesey threw everything forward looking for an equaliser.

There was one chance when Joe Pratley-Jones forced Winnen to tip one wide.

But it wasn't to be as on a counter attack Tom Dilloway gave away a penalty which was easily dispatched by Gary Knowlden to make the result safe for the home side.

Molesey return to the league next Saturday when they face Hanworth Villa at Walton Road.
