MOLESEY FC 5 v 1 SPARTAN YOUTH
The great start to the season for Molesey FC and their 100% winning start continued in fine style on Saturday with a convincing win over a gamely Sparton Youth team that eventually succumbed to the constant pace and pressure that were exerted on them.
The game started off with both sides testing each other out and a few half chances came and went for both teams. Suddenly Molesey came to life when two goals in two minutes put Sparton Youth on the backfoot!
On the 21st minute a crisp passing move down the right wing saw the ball played into the box for Baynton to fire home. Two minutes later and Molesey were two up when Everett collected the ball in the midfield, ran forward and drove the ball into the top corner giving the Sparton Youth Goalkeeper no chance.
Ten minutes later and Sparton Youth tried to make a game of it when Carter pulled one back with a simple finish when he found himself unmarked in front of the Molesey goal.
No more action to speak of until the start of the second half when Peter Doherty, the Molesey Manager, decided to make 3 substitutions, having clearly not been happy with the way things had been going in the first half. Indeed, many of the Molesey supporters had predicted these changes so it came as no surprise.
The changes worked almost immediately as after 6 minutes Everett scored his second when a ball was rolled across to Everett and he duly despatched it into the goal!
3-1 up and you may have though Molesey would relax and play the game out. But not at all as two of the substitutes wanted there say. 0n 62 minutes Hombessa finished off a Molesey move that saw Everett play a lovely ball into his path and he duly scored with some ease!
3 minutes later and it was game over as Molesey scored a fifth for the second game in a row. This time Webster had a tap in at the far post after another fine and pacey passing move by the Molesey team.
This 5-1 result sees Molesey move clear at the top of the Table by two points and with a positive goal difference of ten goals. COME ON YOU MOLES!
