The First home game of the Football Season and an expectant crowd arrived at Walton Road looking for a good performance, a fast start, and goals.
On a lovely afternoon it was less than a minute before the crowd enjoyed the first goal of the match. A long through from the far touchline caused havoc in the Samurai defense and the ball fell nicely for Heravi who calmly slotted the ball past Ng in the Samurai Goal.
The rest of the half saw very little attacking play from the Samurai team and in the 45th minute it was Molesey who made it 2-0 when Bouchez scored with a header from six yards out.
HT 2-0
The second half was much the same as the first with Molesey looking to score more goals, especially once Mohamed was sent off for what looked like a stamp on the Molesey player.
3 more goals were scored by Molesey in the last 20 minutes as it became clear that Samurai Rovers were not the fittest of teams and they clearly tired as the game proceeded. On the 70th minute, a Boxall corner was headed in from close range by Otto to make the score 3-0.
On 85 minutes a great solo effort by Everett made it 4-0 as he ran into the penalty area, wrong footed a defender and hit an unstoppable shot into the back of the net!
Just moments before the final whistle Molesey made it a worthy 5-0 win. A great defense splitting pass was played through to Fraser who had the task os slotting the ball past Ng to make it a worthy win and three valuable points and the first Clean sheet of the season.
Molesey Man of The Match was Prince Otto
If Molesey can keep playing with this style of football, and with the pace and enthusiasm and the management team rotate the squad a little more then I can only see good things for the club this season. The Manager has brought in some more Quality Players and Experienced players and only time can tell how they settle into the Molesey family.
Come on you Moles!
