The Brickies had taken an early lead through Miles Cornwall, but Sobowale’s goal of the season contender and composed finish either side of half-time turned the game in the Moles’ favour.

However, Kane Rowlands equalised with a fine run and finish, and bundled home the winner twenty minutes from time.

The Moles were unchanged from the side that was unlucky to only pick up a point at Herne Bay on Saturday, but were pedestrian in the opening stages and fell behind inside ten minutes.

Craig Lewington lost possession close to his own corner flag, which allowed Rowlands to nip in and cross for Cornwall to smash home.

Another individual error almost cost the Moles a second soon after when Josh Andrew lost the ball in midfield and Cornwall was put through one on one with Liam Allen, who made a smart stop with his legs.

The home side grew into the game as the half progressed, with Ashby Charles influential down the Molesey right.

After one of Charles’s surging runs resulted in a corner, Antonio Someone’s header was cleared off the line.

Ben Gorham’s excellent defensive header denied Oli Akinsanya what looked a certain goal from another Charles cross, before Sobowale got the Moles level in spectacular fashion.

Sobowale rode two Sittingbourne challenges before unleashing a rocket into the top corner from 25 yards with his less favoured left foot, which even the affable Brickies keeper Harry Brooks said was the best goal he’d seen this season.

Parity almost lasted moments, but luck was on the Moles’ side as Cornwall’s close range effort came back off the post and landed kindly in Allen’s arms.

The second half was only five minutes old when Simeone’s surging run set Andrew free, and his fine cross picked out Sobowale unmarked 6 yards from goal.

He calmly stroked the ball beyond Brooks to give his side the lead.

Back the Brickies came, and Rowland rode two challenges before firing beyond Allen to draw the visitors level.

From that moment on there only looked like one winner, and what turned out to be the winning goal arrived soon after.

Again the goal was entirely preventable, with the Moles falling asleep at a corner, allowing Chris Elliott to whip the ball in from a dangerous angle.

It was helped on by Mobolaji Dawodu, before being bundled in from close range by Rowland.

Cornwall was denied a second by the crossbar, and the closest Molesey came was when Andrew got in behind but his effort was smothered by Brooks.

The victory over Chipstead ten days previously that felt like a turning point in Molesey’s season is now in danger of feeling like a false dawn, as despite an improvement in performances just one point has been picked up from the subsequent three games.

They’ll hope to return to winning ways at home to Ramsgate on Saturday.
