Balham 1 Molesey 2

It was a hard fought win for Molesey against useful Balham side who will take all of the points from many sides.
Molesey started the stronger against a Balham, who never stopped working throughout the game.
Chances where created at both ends but the deadlock was broken when Balham took the lead after a good spell of pressure.
A cracking Ryan Marklew shot smashed against the cross bar, many thought that the ball had crossed the line but it was Dre Grobler who was quickest to react and amke sure the ball had hit the back of the net, to bring the scores level. Both sides had chances before half time but it was the Molesey post that probably was the reason the teams went in level.
The 2nd half started as the 1st half finished both teams going from end to end.
The ref found his yellow card and wasn't shy in showing it. Craig Lewington has the club record of the 1st Molesey player to experience the new sinbin.
Dre was the player who separated the teams when he skillfully brought down a strange cross and finished with a well placed shot.
It looked like the game was just going to run out with Molesey winning but a shocking back pass from Remi Meyers that put the Balham center forward straight in on 1 on 1 with Elgi Fejzo, who miss judged his tackle just outside the box and brought the striker down, the ref did consult with his linesman, who must have agreed that Elgi should enjoy an early shower. Luke Viney was the sub that stood up and claimed he would take on the role between the sticks for the remaining 5 minutes. Luke did what was needed to see the time run out and for the 3 points go to Molesey's going tally.
