Molesey travelled to 2nd placed Splethorne Sports and came away with just a point but this was far from a bore draw.
The majority of the game was played through the midfield, Ryan Marklew and Craig Lewington would have come away knowing that they'd been in a game and both should be pleased of their strong performances, also supported in the Molesey midfield by Connor Channon and the ever impressing Tom Windsor.
The 1st real chance for Molesey was when a free kick from Jamie Guiseppe forced the Spelly keeper to palm away from a free kick just outside the box. Danny Campion was a constant nuisance for their 2 center backs, as was Adam Roberts who was outstanding with his hold up play.
Throughout the 90 minutes the officials made a few strange decisions, the 1st being when Danny cleverly flicked the ball over the Spelly back 4 for the assistant to some how rule Adam offside? The next was when Danny had squeezed goal side of the defender who then seemed to have no option but the over edge his nudge bring Danny crashing down, with the ref waving on play.
HT 0-0
The 2nd half was much the same as the 1st with both teams tending to try and drive through the centre of the bobbly pitch.
Splethorne had made 2 substitutions up front but the Molesey back 4 of Ryan David, Haluna Masmbe, captain Joe-Pratley-Jones and Jamie, dealt comfortable with all the opposite offered.
Molesey had another 2 strong shouts for hand ball, the 1st was when a curling corner from Lewy forced the keeper to palm on wards towards the back post and for Danny to have a hook shoot palmed away by the covering defender? The next shout was when again Danny and both Adam seemed to be felled by the defender at the same time.
Craig made 2 substitutions during the final 15 minutes; Connor left the pitch for Olaalekan Osideko and Danny made way for Jerrell Gumbs who both made an impact against a tiring Splethorne team. The game did come to a conclusion at 5.58 but this could have been due to the need of the Spelly trainer having to enter the field to treat some extravagant injuries claimed by her players.
Final score 0-0 and the Moles now look on Tuesday night for yet another tough top of the table clash against Knaphill.
