Molesey get bitten by the Lobsters

It was only at 2pm that this game was given the final green light to go ahead, manly down to a fair amount of sand and what must have been some exceptional hard work from the Redhill ground volunteers, after the previous night’s deluge.
The 1st half saw both sides try and play football with Danny Campion causing the Redhill defence all sort of troubles early on. As early as the 13th minute Molesey were forced into making the game's 1st change when Ashby Charles hobbled off with what looked like a nasty knee injury, replaced by Hullina Massembe.
It was the 18th minute when Liam Allen was 1st called into action with a great double save after Craig Lewington had been muscled off the ball on the edge of the Molesey box. It was only a minute later, when what seemed to be a standard challenge for the game, resulted in Joe Pratley-Jones receiving a yellow card, the 1st of a few contentious decisions made by the ref.
The remainder or the 1st half was fought out in the midfield with Danny Band, Tom Windsor, Ryan Marklew and the ever bossing Craig Lewington, all having a fair few battles with their Redhill counterparts. The only question from the 1st half was where did the ref find the 6 minutes of extra time?
HT 0-0
The opening goal of the game, was when a Redhill attack on the right hand side, resulted in the ball passing all the way across the Molesey box for a simple tap in at the far post.
It was only a few minutes later when Rehill doubled their lead after Hullina failed to clear the danger on the edge of the box, resulting in the ball spinning loose allowing the Lobster’s striker to smash the ball home from close range.
On the 74 minute Craig decided to change the front 2 with Danny Campion and Jerell Gumbs, making way for the fresh legs of Adam Roberts and Olakeko Osideko
Being 2 down Molesey had to venture forward, which forced Redhill to constantly get numbers behind the ball, frustrating Molesey but not as much as the constant time wasting by the Redhill keeper.
It was again a blatant kicking of the ball away, to again run the clock down by the Redhill right back, that saw Lekan and the offender received both a yellow card, Lekan for just his enthusiasm to just get the game going again.
Molesey had all of the final 10-15 minutes in total control, Craig must have lost count to the number of corners he swung in from both sides of the pitch and it was only a sudden counter attack with Molesey having too many pushed forward that resulted in Redhill grabbing their 3rd and final goal with only seconds remaining.
Molesey will regroup and prepare for yet another tough test on Tuesday night when high flying Knaphill are the visitors Walton road.
