Molesey squeeze all 3 points

Another midweek trip down the A3 to Guildford, saw the Moles squeeze all 3 points out of rain soaked match at the Guildford Spectrum.
The 1st chance of the game saw Danny Campion the quickest to react to a mistake by the Guildford back four, to open the scoring after about 9 minutes! The time during the whole match was placed into doubt as the ref had requested that the kick time be brought forward due to the rain!?
Both side looked like they wanted to try and play football but the pitch conditions had a big say through out the match.
Danny had the chance to double the lead but the Guildford keeper who was by far the busiest and managed to sick a leg out, keeping the score to 1-0 to the Moles. Danny Band who cover large areas of the pitch was next to have a half chance, shooting wide through a crowded box.
The next Molesey chance fell to Ashby Charles who is still wondering how his shot managed to hit both posts and bounce out?
Just when most where counting down to the half time break and thinking of the respite from the rain, a late challenge on Danny Campion produce a lengthy stoppage in play, to which the ref seemed to get board and blow the whistle for half time?
Danny was replaced by Olakeko Osideko at the start of the 2nd half.
The 2nd half was end to end but with little end product .
Joe Pratley-Jones seemed to be just shadowing a Guildford striker away from goal when he mistimed his challenge resulting in a penalty. Liam Allen managed to get both hands to the spot kick but could only push it into the roof of the net.
Criag Lewington was subbed with 20 to go, giving way for Jerrel Gumbs.
The pitch did not help Molesey cause in wanting to play a passing game and it was possibly the pitch conditions that caused Ashby to twist a knee for the 2nd time this season, Adam Roberts was his replacement, giving Molesey a very attacking presents.
It was a Jerrel free kick that managed to squeeze through a crowded box with a few players claiming a touch that put Molesey 2-1 up, after much debate Jerrel was awarded the winning goal. Guildford rallied but didn't trouble Liam in the Molesey goal.
Final score Guildford 1 Molesey 2
Next up for the Moles is a home game on the Saturday 28th December against CB Hounslow kick off 3 pm
