Nathan Turner gave the visitors the lead in the opening ten minutes with a clinical finish past Wester Young, and an hour of football was played before Joe Prately-Jones' third penalty in three weeks drew the Moles level.
More good work from Turner set Jon Burch up to restore Camberley's lead, but a predator’s finish from substitute Manny Quarshie gave the Moles a share of the spoils.
It was a game full of effort and endeavour but lacking any real quality, which was emphasised by the fact that three foul-throws were committed during the 90 minutes. The fact that a game was able to be played at all owes a lot to the Molesey groundsman's hard work on the pitch following the deluge of the previous 24 hours that had rendered many local pitches unplayable.
He may have regretted all of his hard work during the opening period, with the Moles sluggish and the Krooners sharper to the ball and swifter to use it. They were good value for the opening goal, but it was an extremely soft one for the Moles to concede. A free-kick inside the Camberley penalty area was flicked on in the middle and caught the Moles' defence square, with Turner running through and ramming the ball past Young via the far post.
Chances were at a premium during the remainder of the half, with Jordan McCartney looping a header into the arms of O'Neal Garvis in the Camberley goal, and Ross Chakle seeing a deflected volley spin just wide for a corner.
The flow of the game was not helped by a perhaps slightly fussy referee who dished out more cards than seemed necessary, although the yellow's given to Molesey's Tom Dilloway and Camberley's Dan Jewell for exchanging a kick at one another off the ball could have resulted in dismissals rather than cautions for the pair.
The Moles improved as an attacking force after the break, with substitute Dean Thomas providing some energy and drive in midfield, although the pace and power of Turner remained a threat, and he should have done better than send a free header wide from a corner after McCartney had missed his clearance.
McCartney sent a free kick into the arms of Garvis, before Dale Webb's trip on Lewis Ackerman gave the Moles a spot kick that Pratley-Jones placed low into the far corner.
The home side were then guilty of going gung-ho in search of an immediate second, and with Kristian Webb out of position Turner prodded the ball past McCartney to set up a three on one in his side's favour. He kept his cool to pick out Burch who fired past Young to restore Camberley’s lead.
Ackerman was once again instrumental in Molesey's equaliser, as his through ball sent Quarshie through on goal. Quarshie was clipped as he went past Garvis, and despite the unfavourable angle he then found himself in it was to his immense credit that he stayed on his feet. It certainly turned out to be the right decision, as he took a touch to improve the angle, and with defenders on the line curled an effort into the top corner for his first goal of 2013.
Ackerman curled an effort just over in the closing stages, whilst Turner shot just wide at the death as both sides had to settle for a point that on the balance of play was probably a fair reflection.
