MOLESEY 3 v 1 WIMBLEDON COMMON
With a number of changes in the Molesey team it was inevitable that the game would start slowly and Molesey would take a while to settle into there usual passing rhythm and style of play.
The opposition, in this Surrey Saturday Premier Cup fixture, Wimbledon Common proved to be good opposition and they took the lead in the27th minute when Dolman scored from the Penalty spot after the Referee spotted a handball.
Molesey gradually got into the game and started to move the ball round with purpose and put The opposition under pressure and in the 40th minute the pressure paid off when Blessing Hombessa collected a great through-ball then ran on and beat the opposition Goalkeeper to put the home team level.
Four minutes later and a second for Molesey, scored by Alabi, with a great finish, sees the Moles go in at the break with a deserved lead.
The second half saw Wimbledon Common come out with a certain intensity and tested the Molesey defence as well as Wheller in the Molesey goal, on a number of occasions. Molesey’s defense and Wheller stayed strong and with four minutes remaining Maximilliano Lyamo scored following one of Molesey’s quick breaks leaving the Oppositions defence standing.
A 3-1 victory was a pleasing result against this good opposition that provided a stern test for this Molesey side.
Well done lads and lets hope for 3 points when we return to league action, at home, on Saturday!
Up the Molesey!
