Molesey 2v 2 Tooting Bec
(Tooting win 5-4 on Penalties)

This Surrey Cup Fixture was chaotic from start to finish. The Appointed Referee didn’t arrive so after a few urgent phone calls a Referee finally arrived and the game eventually took place with a 40 minute delay.
Molesey were totally out of sorts and were behind at half time by 2-1. A first half goal scored by Stokes for Tooting Bec was cancelled up by Everett as he converted a shot that rebounded off the post. With in a minute Tooting took the lead again when Johnston was on hand to knock the ball home and put Tooting in front of a disjointed Molesey side at half time!
The second half saw a better display by Molesey but they struggled to breakdown the stubborn defence of Tooting Bec. They did however score a deserved equaliser when Williamson entered the Tooting Penalty Area and hit a lovely shot into the corner of the Tooting Goal.
Despite Molesey pushing for the winner time eventually ran out on them and so it went straight to Penalties. Here sadly luck ran out and Tooting, who scored all their penalties ran out 5-4 winners and onto the next round they go!
As for Molesey it is all back to League action and the important visit of Amersham to Walton Road. Amersham sit proudly at the top of the league so it is up to our boys to do some damage and take points from them.
